    The Westbury Rival Series RS-22
The Rival Series 22 traces its lineage to the vintage Westbury Series 200, 25.5" scale guitar. True to the original Westbury ethos, we have achieved the perfect recipe of pick-ups and wood to define rich, warm sound.
With a brass nut, ebony fingerboard, and solid maple body, this guitar is built for sustain. A fast, satin-finished neck and multitude of control switching options prove we have the player in mind. The stability of a 3-piece neck with dual truss rod is complimented by the beautiful attention to detail in the fit and finish. Free shipping to the lower 48 States. * Body - We use 100% Canadian Hard Rock Maple for our bodies. Its source is mostly in the Northeast and Northwest United States and Canada. Maple is one of the harder "hard woods" with a tightly packed grain which produces an extremely bright, precise tone with tight lows. Maple, because of its density, is the ultimate choice for sustain in a solid body guitar. The original Westbury company used Maple for many of it's vintage models because of tonal and sustain qualities including the Westbury Custom line, Deluxe line, Series-200, Series-300 Bass, Track 2 and Track 4 Bass guitars to name some. Before we even started drawing up the new Westbury RS-22 design, it was agreed that whatever we came up with, would have to sound like a Westbury. Although custom colors are available, the standard "Westbury Brown" is absolutely beautiful with its 5* Flamed Maple figured top.
    * Neck - All the vintage Westbury necks on all vintage designs use a 3 piece, 2 veneer anti-warp neck design. This is when 3 pieces of wood run the entire length of the neck from the cavity to the end of the headstock (instead of using just one solid piece of wood which is vulnerable to warping.) The middle piece is reversed so it opposes the grain of the other two, making a 3 piece neck a stronger warp-resistant design. Our new guitars also use a 3 piece anti-warp design made of Canadian Hard Rock Maple, except we added a dual truss rod (2 way) opposed to the single truss rods that you see on most guitars. We also use a matte finish on our necks opposed to the high gloss finish that is used for the body. This will give you a faster, smoother feel as you travel up and down the neck.
    * Fretboard - We chose Ebony because like Maple, it has such a tight grain and is about as good as you can get for a clear, crisp attack which is often brighter than Maple. Although Maple is an excellent choice, Ebony fretboards are generally favored by guitar players who prefer a bright, razor sharp top end and a very tight, defined low end.
    * Bridge - We chose the Wilkinson Steel block Tremolo (Chrome). An excellent choice. This is a significant improvement over traditional vintage Strat-Trems while still retaining most of the vintage look. Original Floyd Rose Options for the New Westbury RS-22 are available as well.
    * Nut - When it comes to brightness and sustain on your guitar, the nut is so important. Basically, the harder, the better. There is no plastic on the new Westbury Guitar. The nut on the RS-22 is made of Brass.
    * Cavity - Although we use humbucking pickups, it is still a good idea to shield the cavities. I heard one wise man say "A pickup is a long coil of wire, an antenna is a long coil of wire, so it is always a good idea to shield". Shielding cavities in a guitar will also keep down any static buildup in and around the cavity pickup... The cavities on all the new Westbury RS-22 are shielded with the highest quality of shielding paint available.
    * Pickups 1 - We did not forget to add pickup mounting rings on your new Westbury RS-22. The DiMarzio DP-100's are directly mounted to the body of your guitar opposed to using mounting rings. A connection to the vibrating wood of the body produces a more radiant sound and adds maximum sustain to your signal.
    * Pickups 2 - The DiMarzio DP-100 Pickup started a sound revolution and many of the vintage Westbury models were part of that sound. Replacement pickups simply didn't exist before the invention of the "Super Distortion". The dual sound was the first pickup specifically designed to kick a tube amp into overdrive and is still the standard by which all other high-output pickups are measured. The Super Distortion has a perfect blend of power and tone in both single notes and chords, filling a wall of sound while still holding a beautiful strong clean sound. The balance of tones is classic. Thick boosted mids, big lows and fat highs. The DiMarzio DP-100 has a versatile 4 conductor wiring which allows access to a strat-type split and series-parallel modes. The New Westbury RS-22 is equipped with a neck and bridge push/push volume controls to turn each pickup into a full humbucking sound or a single coil simulated sound. Mix and match 8 different possible tone variations. Few if any guitar players would ever disagree that the DiMarzio DP-100 is the best all around high-powered pickup ever made.
