The Namiki Goose & Pink Flower is a remarkable vest type fountain pen. The motif is displayed using various very detailed maki-e techniques. Rubbing away the top layer of lacquer to reveal the colors beneath brings depth and character to the Goose. This technique is known as Togidashi Maki-e. The gorgeous pink flowers are drawn using the raised lacquer technique (Taka) and urushi lacquers colored with pigments.
Namiki Goose & Pink Flower Limited Edition features a whimsical goose and pink flowers well-loved since ancient times by the Japanese.  This fountain pen was a reproduction of a 1960s design made by then the late artist, Sei Katsuda.  The new Namiki Goose and Pink Flower Limited Edition was made in a limited edition of 83 pieces and hand crafted by renown maki-e artisan, Seki Chida. Each pen is personally signed by the maki-e artisan and numbered. Comes with an 18-karat gold medium nib. An elegant black lacquer wooden box with bottled ink contains this truly unique pen and makes for an exquisite presentation.
This gorgeous fine writing instrument comes complete with the original outer cardboard box, outer presentation box, ink bottle, black lacquer wooden box, and authentic original documentation. The pen has not been used. Please look over our pictures carefully as they depict the actual pen for sale.
