The garden style that expresses beautiful natural scenery such as mountains and water with only rock combinations and sand is called dry mountain garden.It is said that it developed into a garden unique to Japan under the influence of landscape painting from the Muromachi period. Stone gardens such as Nanzenji Temple and Ryuanji Temple in Kyoto are famous. The delicate wave crests are expressed using sharpening techniques, while the rocks with presence are painted vigorously by changing colors.
