Up for sale is a diy part kit for smg conversion.
It is crucial that you read everything and understand what you are getting in to.
If you do decide buying, there is no support and no instructions. You and your machine shop are on your own.
Pins and bushings should be measured and machining done accordingly.
Anyone who gives you specs is setting up for a failure because once again, you M
UST measure all the parts, then perform calculations according to desired installation.
There is no magic number that will be perfect for all.
A lot of people buying these kits on ebay. It is cringe worthy as we have seen all the things that can go wrong. Sadly most cars are flips and dozens of half assed cars floating out there. Things to take in to consideration when wanting to tackle it yourself, or finding a local machine shop.
-There is a reason why we and our competitors charge what we charge. We have done hundreds of these conversions. No one will ever admit it, but things can and do go wrong and many of us have learned from the mistakes.
More importantly, with experience specialists who do these daily know how to keep them from happening.
Uncle Bobs Machine shop down the street, will gladly take your money, throw the pins in and leave you dealing with any issues
, which can come up installation day or year later.
Most customers wont know something is wrong until the trans is in the car and something just doesn't feel right or you suddenly loose shifter.
You are stuck paying double labor or  redo the job or yourself, in either case was it worth few extra bucks? There is a
    CORE BELLHOUSING SHORTAGE
, they are next to impossible to find, once screwed up, its good for 40c per pound at local yard.
-This is much more than just putting a bunch of holes in your trans.
-Your selected machine shop should have experience driving and knowing how the sifter feels on original setup. Being a little bit off on machining may look just fine at a glance, but only the driver will notice the error.
That is why its important for your specialist to be an M driver and know these cars.
In the real world the only way to get experience and know what to avoid, is to make mistakes.
Now tell me if it was worth saving a few bucks instead of paying for refundable core and/or sending it out to either us, or our competitors.
    /end rant.
