    Description

    1979 Porsche 924 Turbo Snailshell DogLeg Close Ratio 5-speed Transaxle with Limited Slip Differential.  Inspected and Rebuilt.
    This is a 5-speed close ratio dog leg 931 "Snailshell" transaxle fit with a limited slip differential, and removed from a 1979 Porsche 924 Turbo.   I've owned this unit for 5 years or so, and took it to my German-car transmission guy to evaluate and repair as necessary.  After 9 months of trying to find the correct syncho gears, it is finally done and ready to be installed and used.  This unit is extremely rare and in very good condition.

    I took the transmission to a manual transmission specialist who opened and inspected all the gears, bearings, and synchro gears for adverse wear.  He found worn parts inside this transmission and made the following repairs:
    1.  Installed 2 new OEM Porsche synchro gears (had to be ordered from Germany)
    2.  Installed seals at all locations.
    All other parts inside this transmission were inspected and found to be in good condition.
    I have not run this unit in a car, but I expect it be
    100% operational
